Thanks again to the couple hundred beautiful people who made this a great success...
A breeze flows thorugh the southland. It carries colors and dreams, like memories we never had. It is:
LOCAL MIGRATION
As Southern Californians we access our heritage, our sense of place and self, through our imaginations. Local Migration is a visual story drawn from the images your neighbors have made. Hector Miramontes presents colors as the language that describe this place. What do they say? For some of us, these colors take us away to the places we are from, but may have never been to.
Here is where the story of myth and self begins: Victor Hernandez and Andrew Bramasco play with light distorting our sense of what’s real and not. How might Meg Strouse’s manipulation of color and composition do the same? As you take in these images, we at Community Gallery invite you to wonder: is heritage what you have or what you bring? How does each photographer use color, light and composition to bring a voice to this story?
Come visit, consider, start a conversation...
Local Migration will be up until September 3rd.
